Hey Greg, Not saying this is definitely the answer, but I’d start by checking your server.xml file (in the application directory) and checking if the proxyName and proxyPort values are set to jira-web.acns.colstate.edu and 443 respectively - if you can hit https://jira-web.acns.colstate.edu and it then redirects you to the…

Hi Tushar, We have offers out for the Singapore positions (restructure meant there ended up being two positions there), but if there's any change we'll update this thread. CCM

Hi Mesut, I’m not aware if sponsorship is an option for this role, but if you’d like to apply we can review. CCM

If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people together to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.– Antoine de Saint Exupery (variations, original quote etc discussed at https://quoteinvestigator.com/2015/08/25/sea/ )

Hi Sushma, Are you able to share information on the number/size of CPUs, RAM (system and XMS/XMX settings) The report indicates that gzip isn't enabled (in jira or a reverse proxy) which will compress the content sent over the network…

Hi, My guess is that the application link between JIRA and confluence is setup using 127.0.0.1:8090 and not https://confluence.yourcompany.com/ so instead of hitting nginx over ssl, the request is going straight to the confluence application which is only http. Change the application link to use the full hostname and it…

Hi Matthias, A likely easy fix is to stop the node (when you can handle an outage) and increase the size of the instance. If this is a production instance or has growing traffic you may want to change from the t2 to m4 or m5 instance type family as you’ll get more reliable performance. CCM

If you're new to Linux, the command to do what @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- suggested is: chmod 600 /home/ichi/.ssh/id_rsa CCM

Hi, Which installer are you using, and what part is saying it requires a GUI? CCM

Glad to hear you saw some improvement. Re: other items that can be cached, I haven't dug too much further with Confluence yet (the benefits for the work done so far were quite high, so priority wise it dropped down the list), but my method is using the network panel in Chrome (or similar) to look for repeating URL patterns…

The Crowd upgrade process for us has been very reliable - have been using Crowd for 5-6 years and can’t think of one time the upgrade has failed (disclaimer: personal experience only, your mileage may vary etc etc). backing up crowd before an upgrade is pretty straight forward either using the XML option Ann mentioned, or…

Hi joe, Out of interest, wondering how removing the domain from the username helps with GDPR compliance when the username is still it’s own field? Given a persons name is still PII, my understanding is that all this info would still need to comply with GDPR requirements. thanks! CCM

Hey Mohammed, * /s/* behaviour screenshot below * If we assume your end users are going to access jira from https://jira.example.org * Get a wildcard SSL for example.org * Deploy using AWS Certificate Manager * CloudFront* Use the wildcard cert from Cert Manager * CNAME should be jira.example.org * Origin should be the…

Hi Sue, It sounds like you’re looking to push some existing (non-gitversioned) code to Bitbucket. If that’s the case, this page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/importing-code-from-an-existing-project-776640909.html) should be handy. It runs you through how to initialize a folder as a git repository, then…

Hey Lena, I suggest the following steps: * Stop the Bamboo application (to ensure the next few steps all happen with Bamboo in the same state * Copy all your customized configuration files from the application directory to a location outside the application directory * Snapshot your 2 x EBS volumes * Snapshot your RDS PSQL…

Hey @M Amine Wondering if you're able to share the misconfiguration in Jira - it might be helpful in the future if anyone else has a similar issue CCM

Hey Robert, Not sure what could be happening with your ttf/woff's - maybe worth putting a rule just for *.woff and *.ttf at the top of your rules and forcing them through without any cache to check if they at least load, and if that works, you can change the behavior so they then should be cached - at least this way you…

Hey Mohammed, To ensure only CloudFront traffic is getting through to your environment, you'll want to have the security group automatically update based on the IP ranges CloudFront uses. As these can (and do) change, AWS have an SNS topic you can subscribe, this can then trigger a Lambda function that updates the security…

Hey Larry, Glad to hear it was helpful. While yes, it's helpful to have an exact list of steps you can copy and paste for your requirements - the sheer combination of possibilities that people could be using is immense (AWS, Azure, GCP - nginx/apache - windows/linux, let alone which flavor of linux, mysql/psql/mssql etc…

Hey Larry, To start, isn’t recommend taking it in small chunks. 1 - download Jira, start it (exactly as it using the internal database, change your security groups to allow TCP 8080 through, check it works from your browser 2 - install mysql locally, reinstall JIRA and point it to your local mysql, check it works 3 -…

Sounds like you may just need to change the crowd-latest folder symlink to point to 2.9.1 Failing that, step through your setup (dns > reverse proxy > crowd config etc) and re-validate everything. I’ve found it can be very helpful doing this with another person. Talking through the setup is sometimes enough to realize a…

Hi Scott, A specialist full time Atlassian admin role may not exist in most areas as yet for an accurate comparison (where are you based by the way?). Using the contractor rates with a % factor (contractors, at least in Australia are often about 25% higher than “equivalent” full time, don’t know what it would be where you…
