Hi @Natalie Beaulieu Thank you for this information, and... The link in your article for the Jira Product Discovery Integration for Jira Data Center app is the internal, Atlassian admin one...not for the customer marketplace. Is this the one you wanted?…
-
Hi @Cooper -- Earlier you mentioned using the same value / increment for all the work items. If that still applies, you could store that as a variable and use it for all: {{issue.duedate.plusDays(yourVariableName.asNumber)}}

Hi @Adrianna Bell First thing: the contains() function is undocumented, so "buyer beware" using that one :^) Next, what can your Summary field contain? The contains() function expressions you show probably could find text which is not a valid date value. This is one of the challenges of using plain text to represent things…

Variables may be converted with asNumber for use in some functions and not others. To learn more, please see this article I wrote which covers the different types of functions and possible workarounds to use variables a parameters:…

I do not believe you want to use Branch -- For Current Work Item. You described updating a different one, the Task for the unplanned work. And so the rule would use JQL to branch to that work item to perform the edit.
-
Awesome; I am glad to learn it is working! Please consider marking this question as "answered" to help others with a similar need find solutions faster. Thanks! And also...please note the Delay() action does not reload data; it just waits. Adding a re-fetch action instead will reload the data. This helps because the root…

Hi @Eydie Fitzgerald -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Without seeing your rule and audit log details... From what you describe, the rule is branching to the current work item...which would be the trigger one for what you show. The rule would instead need to branch to the "Unplanned work" one using a branch on JQL to…
-
Hi @Jeffrey Bistrong As others have implied, the actor is assigned to the rule when it was last published. More specifically, when the rule begins executing, the currently assigned actor configuration is used for the specific instance of execution. And thus, one could not use a workaround to call the automation REST API…

My mistake, @Etienne Prud_homme -- I should have read your question more clearly! Yes, I recall there are problems doing this type of linking from Confluence rules to build a page with that action and smart values...perhaps after the latest changes to smart linking. The built-in help / example for this case does not work…
-
Hi @Etienne Prud_homme A single line, smart value expression may be used by wrapping with the double-curly brackets {{ ... }} However, you want a list of items, and line feeds will "break" the page expression's parsing of the single line, smart values. Please try the Smart values code snippet, inline expressions. To enter…

For a hyperlink, the markup of where you are sending the information matters. That is: what is the supported format for the message? For example with HTML: <a href="{{url}}">{{summary}}</a> I recommend researching that first, and then creating a test rule to add a single hyperlink with the correct markup. Once that works,…
-
Yes, that looks correct for your first JQL. You may want to further limit by issue type and status, as needed. For the second lookup's JQL, let's add a helper variable first to contain all of the linked issues for the ones in the first lookup. * action: create variable* variable name: varLinkedKeys * smart value:…

Hi @Sean Still Without seeing your current rule and audit log details for context...I hypothesize you could do this with dynamic regular expression search and variables, and a helper variable for the get() function, although it is not simple. This would be easier if the list's get() function could directly take a nested…
-
Hi @Adrianna Bell Without seeing your entire current rule and audit log details for context... Have you confirmed customfield_15700 contains a number, and the number is an integer? I recommend writing the field value to the audit log to confirm it contains what you expected. Kind regards, Bill

Awesome; I am glad to learn it is working! Please consider marking this question as "answered" to help others with a similar need find solutions faster. Thanks! For your follow-up question, the markup available in rules (and Jira fields) can be quite limited, and experimentation is needed to learn what does / does not…

Hi @ray For a question like this, context is important for the community to help. Please post the following: * please confirm the version of Jira are you using: Cloud, Server, or Data Center * an image of your complete automation rule in a single image for continuity * images of any relevant actions / conditions / branches…

Hi @Louise Baker Yes, and...to the suggestions from @Marc -Devoteam- to use the Lookup Work Items action to gather the items for one email... Because you want to first get the work items with the specific Fix Version value, and then gather those items linked ones, filtering them by their labels, this would require two uses…

Greetings, community! For those wanting to measure based upon their breakdown to sub-task levels, perhaps consider learning more about the history of burn charts, and how that compares to what your team wants to learn from measurement... A long, long time ago (in agile years), teams sometimes used two charts: the burndown…

Hi @Tiara Pequeno -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Which of these are you trying to calculate: * the average number of work items created over the last 20 days, or * the average number of comments added to a set of work items over the last 20 days If if is the second one, please note the comments are list of things…

Hi @Wim-Jan Lam -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community! As you observed, Jira Product Discovery (JPD) uses its own date field format: it is a text representation of JSON, allowing it to store a single date, a date range, or a date-quarter. But...rules do not recognize it as JSON for dot-notation access until it is parsed,…
-
Hi @Christian Piermayr I recently learned the "read-only" indication for rules appears when Jira automagically adds a rule for re-occurring work item creation. This is not stated in the documentation. Here is a related question and the post from the Atlassian team member describing this behavior:…
-
Hi @Lucy Cookney In addition to your solved question...please consider when you want the field updated and how accurately you want it reflected in the parent work item. Your scenario covers this case: GIVEN a work item has a parent WHEN the Due Date changes THEN update the parent to maximum Due Date for all of its child…
-
Hi @Chris Jiang -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Short answer: that is not possible with built-in features. An automation rule can detect something changed in a version using the Version Updated trigger, but it cannot detect which field changed in the version. There are no changelog entries available for versions and…
-
Hi @tremby -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community! Without seeing your entire rule for context, I am assuming your rule trigger is Version Created. if it is not, your rule will not work as you describe. Perhaps posting an image of the entire rule and audit log details will help. Until we see those... Managing / incrementing…

First thing, a JPD Idea is not the "parent" of the linked delivery tickets. Instead, the rule would use a branch on JQL to the specific one use the link type. Next, the rule you show would only check one work item...and not all of the others linked to the Idea. This is why I suggested to... Please take a look at the…
-
Hi @Muha Yes, both of those scenarios you describe are possible. And, they are similar to template rules available from the rule list. The differences for your rule are the scope needs to be global (or multiple project) and the specific link type used by Jira Product Discovery (JPD) to connect with its "delivery tickets".…

Hi @Tiara Pequeno You already posted this question about 15 minutes earlier. Please wait for the community to respond and stay with the original one to help focus the conversation. Thank you! Here is the earlier post:…

Thanks for that image, @Sheri Seldes as it shows you are trying to add spaces to the table name. Unfortunately, that is a poor error message the editor shows; it would be better as: Lookup table variable name can only be alphabetic characters. Please try this for your table name, perhaps adding a prefix to reduce the…

Hi @Davit Mas Martínez For a question like this, context is important for the community to help. Please post the following: * what version of Jira are you using: Cloud, Server, or Data Center * for Cloud, what type of project is this: company-managed, team-managed, JPD, etc. * an image of your complete automation rule in a…

Hi @Sheri Seldes I believe a lookup table's value can contain any alphanumeric and symbol characters you are likely to use in the messages. You may need to use encoding for any JSON used in a message, such as with this function: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-text-fields/#jsonEncode--…
