Hey @Bill Sheboy ah, that's a good point. However, for my use case, I needed regular expressions so I could get a little fancier (*sigh*) and search for "Approve" in the body of each task, so I'm ONLY clearing "Approval" tasks. I end up having to include that text back in the replacement text, so regular expression is…
-
Huh. So I'm trying to wrap my head around this. My primary "Clear Approved Tasks" rule would be able to generate a list of task IDs on a page that are complete that need to be cleared. (Search by page-id, status=complete, and optionally filter if body contains "Approve") So I send this data to the looping rule: { "value":…

Yup. Once again, @Bill Sheboy is right. "This is the way." URL to GET: https://YOURSITE.atlassian.net/wiki/api/v2/pages/{{page.id}}?body-format=storage URL to PUT: https://YOURSITE.atlassian.net/wiki/api/v2/pages/{{page.id}} (Although it turns out Atlassian will ignore if you have "?body-format=storage" in the PUT) Custom…

Hey @Bill Sheboy - so this endpoint: https://MYSITE.atlassian.net/wiki/api/v2/tasks?body-format=storage&page-id={{page.id}} Is this API: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/confluence/rest/v2/api-group-task/#api-group-task And it returns a lot of information, but the only thing I'm concerned about is the id…

Here's the portion of the rule that SHOULD clear the completed tasks (REMINDER THIS DOES NOT WORK DUE TO CONFCLOUD-80654): I made things more complicated by myself by using Bill's trick to add an additional "filter" so that I'm only touching Tasks that contain the word "Approve". So in "Create…

Hey @Matthew Ogrady and @Bill Sheboy - I actually recently attempted to do exactly what Matthew is asking as part of my attempt to implement Page Approvals in Confluence (sorry my Appfire friends) using Automation. I was using action items (in Confluence they're actually called Tasks) for these approvals, and in the case…
-
HI @Andres Felipe Ramirez Espinal - so, I've got good news, and bad news... Atlassian recently introduced a new feature called Action Items, and you create them by typing [] directly into Description or any Rich Text Fields. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Introducing-Action-items-in-Jira/ba-p/2876018 Now…
-
Unfortunately @Zoltán Lehóczky if you flip back to the first page of comments, you'll see @Martin Böhme was the first to ask the same question. And unfortunately the answer is, Atlassian has strangely not seen fit to make Action Items easily createable with Markup in the API or Automation. It's a ton more work,…
-
Hey @Jared Schmitt - wondering if you dared to try this unofficial API. :-}

Thanks for the assurance @Anurag Datta Roy. As my fellow veteran Jira/JSM admins will attest to though, it is a curious decision to encourage users import issues and users into new projects without giving them more tools/guidance on things like project security, workflows, etc. I mean, sure, your user research might have a…

Additionally @Stefan Tichelaar here's some good tutorials on the general mechanisms for cloning Epics+Children and Tasks/Stories+Subtasks: * Clone Epic, Stories and Subtasks tree with Jira Automation * Automation: How to clone tasks/stories along with their sub-tasks Alas, they still require "hardcoding" the target Project.
-
@Stefan Tichelaar Oh yeah, one of my teams was looking for something similar. Because we use Deviniti's Issue Templates for Jira I think we advised the team to coordinate with us to create tickets in their projects using that mechanism. However, there was the problem where if there was a time gap between when we created…
-
Hi @Anurag Datta Roy - as @Phill Fox and others have pointed out, it does seem odd to more seasoned Jira administrators that you would create a new CSV import tool that only allows you to import into new projects that can only be configured by Template. (And only 4 very generic templates at that! "Business project",…

Hi all - trying to get the word out: @Charles Blaxland has gotten @Derrick Nguyen to file this Suggestion: * CLOUD-12193 - Reduce occurrences of accidental site creations I think all the major points are covered, so I look forward to everyone voting it up. I don't look forward to Atlassian letting it languish for several…
-
Thanks to the fine efforts of @Charles Blaxland we now have a ticket filed by @Derrick Nguyen to HOPEFULLY address these problems: * CLOUD-12193 - Reduce occurrences of accidental site creations And for reference (helpfully compiled by @Stefaan Vandaele), lots of previous tickets and discussions on this topic: *…

Couldn't find a public API endpoint. Atlassian has been somewhat ... slow, to implement such requests. I did find the following endpoint, but it DOES NOT work with an Admin API Key. I found it during a logged in session to admin.atlassian.com, and for OCCASIONAL use, you could probably have a script the cloud.session.token…

Thankfully there is finally a proper (IMHO) solution for this proposed here: * CLOUD-12193 - Reduce occurrences of accidental site creations Many thanks to @Charles Blaxland getting it filed by @Derrick Nguyen Now we just have to get Atlassian to FIX THE PROBLEM. I mean, yeah, vote it up.
-
Ugh, two more sites created by accident just last week. This news cannot be more timely: @Charles Blaxland has gotten @Derrick Nguyen to file this Suggestion: * CLOUD-12193 - Reduce occurrences of accidental site creations I think all the major points are covered, so I look forward to everyone voting it up. I don't look…

WOW, that's an amazing find Stefan. Also, Atlassian's inconsistency is super-annoying. :-P

Well, this is progress: @Charles Blaxland has gotten @Derrick Nguyen to file this Suggestion: * CLOUD-12193 - Reduce occurrences of accidental site creations I think all the major points are covered, so I look forward to everyone voting it up. I don't look forward to Atlassian letting it languish for several years. :-/…

@Jackie Napalan huh, yeah, I guess I didn't realize it at the time, but Atlassian doesn't keep their old agenda/schedules posted anywhere, so I suppose this is a nice snapshot. Glad it could help you - hope you get approved to go to Team! You might also share this with your VP: * Make the case to attend Team ’25

Hrm, this works for Jira, what about Confluence? This should be a [link to Google|https://google.com] Nope. Well, that sucks. Sorry,

A pretty huge annoyance is that this change does not appear to be mentioned in Product Updates for Release Tracks. The whole point of Release Tracks is for administrators to get a heads-up about when new "features" like this will be coming. WHY IS THIS NOT in PRODUCT UPDATES?
-
Happy New Year! So far two new Confluence Sites created by accident, 1/5/2025, and 1/16/2025. That doesn't bode well. :-{
-
One last note about the unnofficial nature of this API endpoint. The same path is "unofficially" documented by Atlassian here for Server/DC: * Monitoring Jira Service Management email channels using REST API And here for Cloud with Automation: * An unofficial way to monitor a JSM mail handler for errors

To get your project's ID, you can load this up in a web browser: https://YOURSITE.atlassian.net/rest/api/latest/project/YOURPROJECTKEY (Where YOURPROJECTKEY = HELP/TECH/BUGS whatever prefixes your issue IDs like HELP-123, TECH-234, or BUGS-345.) ID will be up at the top after "id":

Hey, that's a cool idea. Unfortunately the API for adding domains/emails to the blocklist is not public, but hey, that's what Chrome's Developer Tools is for! DISCLAIMER Use of Unofficial and Undocumented APIs is NOT RECOMMENDED for any production tasks or Automations. This information is strictly for informational, and…

Happy new year everyone! Welp, it seems like the Jira team, at least, is trying to address this issue. When I go to the Jira product page at https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira, I'm very pleased to see that I am prompted with the option to "Pick up where you left off in Jira" and go to my Organization's Jira instance:…

@[deleted] while I appreciate that you want to sell your plug-in, the original question was about "Trying to add a checkbox item in description via the API". The example code that @Sofiane Az. indicates he's using the API, not Automation, and as I've mentioned and @[deleted] has TESTED, adding/creating action items via API…
