@James Crookyou would need a backlog Status in your workflow to have that as part of your process. You could have a backlog board that would show all the issues in that status. Once they moved to To-Do then use the main board for the project to show the issues being worked on. You could use any field you like to show on a…

@Peter Graingeras per usual it appears that are a few add-in apps to do this. One of them is free. It might be worth a look at them. SharePoint connectors
-
@Peter GraingerI will have to look for the article again but I saw that there was a way to directly link SharePoint content with Confluence which might work for you. I'll comment again when I find it.

@Jonathan Lowry, I tend to use filters in Advanced Roadmaps for this purpose. In my case, I will have Initiative at the highest level in my hierarchy. From there I link the Epics that are needed for that Initiative regardless of the project similar to what @Derrick L explained. I've done this where the Epics are in…

You should be able to clone the information you need via automation. It might require you to use smart values.
-
Looking to participate to gain more insight on the Advanced Roadmap tool to use to convince more users to implement it as part of their Scrum planning.
-
@Jeanne Collinsyour description from your third entry tells me you are not where you need to be to set up your plan. Ignore all of the warnings you are getting from the project board and the board settings page. Just go into plans as @Robert Wen_Cprime_ described and set up the plan issue sources as shown. You can use the…

@Jeanne Collinsignore this reply for my other one. I didn't see your comment on having the Premium subscription. I believe you are confusing the project roadmap feature with the Advanced Roadmap Planning tool which is accessed per @Robert Wen_Cprime_ instructions above. You need to be on the Premium Subscription Plan to…

@Benjamin Pettuswe use something slightly different where we have the automation assign the ticket to a reviewer or approver or whatever by a workflow step. I've not implemented it yet in the same way you are looking for but I would think you could do it w/o using sub-tasks. Have a multiple user picker field to collect…

We use both. As an example, each of the engineering teams has their own project for the items they work on and run their own sprints. There is a main project that contains all of the separate projects working on it. It's a Scrum of Scrums. All of the individual team sprints are shown on the board for the main project.
-
@Joshua Dickersondo the issues still exist in the project in any of the other views including filtering for them? Unfortunately, Business Projects will drop issues from the board view if they haven't been updated within 14 days. This is true for all status columns, not just the Done Status/Category.

@Jeff Laurenzatake a look at this page for more information. I recommend you print out the visual from that page to hang up as a reference.https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/project-screens-schemes-and-fields-861253368.html

It's been over a month!

@Tanvir HossainI don't know what would limit that feature in DataCenter but it works in the Cloud version. I'm guessing you need to create a start date/end date or just click in the Gannt chart area to create a timeline bar for the issue you want to link to.
-
@Peter GraingerI do not know of a template or if there is an add-on for something like this but it would be very easy to create a project for this and tie it to your SharePoint repository. I'm doing this very thing in our instance where another project team or Quality process can generate an ECR in our project. Once that…

@Shari Fitz-Patrickmy first response would be to make your rule that clones the issue to the MASTER BOARD a global one. Or at least add the projects you want the rule to work with to it. You can adjust the rule's scope here:
-
@[deleted]you need to enable the Browse projects Global permission first for all users and then limit which projects they can browse (see issues in the project) by granting more specific browsing permissions in each of the projects. You will also need to manage who can be a watcher and if they are allowed to see a watcher…
-
@Sharath MoolyaOMT. I forgot to tlak about the dashboard. Use the filter widget and the filter you created to get your issues and you'll have them on a dashboard.
-
Good day @Sharath Moolya Yes, you can do this via JQL. You need to study up on JQL to really be able to use it effectively. The search is performed left to right. The idea is to collect the largest group of issues first. Think about that like this. The first thing you want to do is to get the project you have and all of…
-
@jonathan sunI realize you may know this already but per the Atlassian documentation: "You should be a Jira administrator (i.e. someone with the Administer Jira global permission), if you want to set up a new project in Jira Software (excluding team-managed project templates – unless your Jira admin has implemented a…

As of today, the Epic link is still available but will be phased out for Parent. See the link below: Upcoming changes to epic fields in company-managed projects.
-
I would expect no less. 🤣
-
@Bryan Hordyou will get used to JQL as you go. Follow @Sam Nadarajan lead by trying some basic searches and then switching to JQL to see what it creates from your basic search. Then go check out this article: Get started with Advanced Search and JQL
-
@John FunkI think she is getting the correct issues in the search but if I am correct @Theresa Gothard you can't come up with how to make your email a digest style. I did this same thing recently but could not come up with a way to make the email have more than one issue in it. My search would come up with five issues and…
-
Arrgh! @John Funk just when I was getting used to you being a very knowledgeable resource here. 😥 I haven't checked out your book yet so I may be speaking out of turn here but I am under the impression that the Jira Work Management Structure is the same as what I know as a Business project. I used a business project to…
-
@Heather Byou need to review changes and commit them to the project first. Then refresh the project plan via the browser refresh and all of the tickets will have issue keys assigned. Then you can click on the issue if you need to review change/something.
-
@Andy Creech, unfortunately, I can't remember how things work with the standard roadmap since I upgraded to Premium. You will get this feature with Advanced Roadmaps. There are a whole lot of other good reasons to go with Premium if you can make the case to your management.
-
Good to know but as of today, my Epic Link fields are still working. I find it interesting that I hadn't heard about this change. I would expect in the cloud version they would just seamlessly replace Epic Link with the Parent one.
-
I don't think you can do that. I try to get everyone to complete their account info. with their full name (first and last) and suggest they use the nickname field as well.
-
Or you could use an automation rule as @John Funk explains below. 😁
