Hi Bloompeak, Thanks for the confirmation of the use of parentheses. I had read Nic's reply and had started a reply to him which I didn't send because I went off to try some quick changes to my search and see what the results were. I got interrupted and started doing something else altogether and then had to reboot my…

Nic, you are the man. I think I see now how the order of operation of the search is critical. Cast the widest net first, then limit the filter in order of item needed. And I never even thought about using nested parenthesis in my search function. I will do some testing and see what I get.

Thanks, Stephen and Simeon. I thought that might be the way to do it. I was jamming through all of the free training that Atlassian offered at the very end of the free trial period and kind of mashed up all of that information into one big crazy thing. I have become very enamored of the Automation feature to where I find…

@Tiffany OwenI'm not quite sure I understand your instructions. I'm assuming the script would be placed below the actual message you want in the banner. Likewise, I would think you would put the actual landing page path inside the quotes in this line: window.location.href.indexOf("/secure/Dashboard.jspa") I also don't…

I don't know what hallucinogen I was on while taking the training. NVM my weird ramblings. It's these 50+ hours per week I've been doing.

Rats! I was creating a new project and wanted to keep the issue prefix. I just got through the Jira admin part 1 and 2 video training modules and swear I saw in there somewhere that you could reuse the prefix in multiple projects. The example was such that all the projects for the DEV team at TIS could use the prefix for…

Thank you for the reply Petter. I am already using the validator panel but since it is a fly-in at the bottom of the screen I decided to look for something I could put at the top of the issue. I thought about trying this type of field but since I am using the new issue view I wasn't able to quite figure out how to…

Sundeep, There is an Outlook add on that allows you to create, add to, or find related issues in Jira. I would suspect it exists for other email clients as well but I can't say for sure.

Thanks for the reply Nic. You are correct, I was looking for a way to add a set of values to the custom field to update it. It's a Select List (single choice) that almost all of the values have changed so I was hoping to easily update it. The error I received was the following: The value [ {null=BD0001: BD Pursuits} ]…

I realize this is an older thread but this solution doesn't work for loading values into a custom field. If they don't already exist it creates a set of warnings that says the entries can't be added to the Custom Field or am I missing a step?
-
Rob, it's my standard reply. Everytime I go off hunting for something I need to do it seems like someone always responds with there is an add-on (that they created) that will do what you want. I swear the entire Atlassian team waits for people to report or request things like this and then when Atlassian doesn't want to…
-
No, kidding. I bet there is an add-on that does it.
-
I can since it is an add on that Ryhs created. I'm finding this more and more here in the help section of the community. I also find it very annoying that Atlassian isn't more proactive with incorporating these types of things in their software suite. Given that it was created by software developers for software developers…

Thanks, Edwin, I finally found the training location after I stumbled onto it from another post I was reading. I was fine until we started adding a lot of users and a bunch of projects none of which were set up correctly permission wise. That adds to the frustration of course. Hopefully, it will help.
-
Well, Please fix it ASAP! I'm not programmed to enter a date like that manually. :)
-
Thanks Brant. That sounds plausible. BTW, I finally got a JPEG to load quickly enough that I do know it should work. It seemed frustrating that the help pages didn't mentiuon any specific requirements or limitations.
-
Well I've added two groups to no avail. I pass all of the permission checker requirements without any failure conditions and it still won't let me resolve the issue. Could it have to do with when the project or the issues were created? This is quite the frustrating thing for a new user.
-
Thank you all for the quick response. I have tried changing the permission schemes and can't figure out what I need to change or add to make it work. As a test I removed the project lead from the permission for edit, close and resolve issues. I also added everything I thought would allow me to get the permissions I need. I…

Can you explain what the Icon URL field is doing? I changed it from generic to needinfo.png and nothing changed. Could this be used to obtain a different icon for the status?
-
Nic, I was looking to change status colors not priorities.
-
Thank you but we are using the cloud version at this time.
-
Thanks, but how do you change the color? I can't seem to find a format setting. Mind you I am very new to Jira and got thrown into an admin position for it so be gentle. :)
-
Yes, I want to change the color. I have no idea how the title of my question turned into "change the id"
