Might not be the best method, but what about just working out of an Excel spreadsheet which is saved in a File List? This might save you a lot of headaches. 

Users will need access to the source page to be able to see the content on the page properties report. An option is to move the sensitive information into a restricted child page and then open up the parent page which has your page properties macro.
