This is my first trip to Vegas too, but I probably won't be able to do much outside of the conference area. Two of the reasons I'm going are pre-Summit; test prep and cert exam on Monday and all-day Dashboards on Tuesday. And, unless I can work ahead enough, much of the evenings will be spent doing homework for my Masters…

I absolutely LOVE road trips. I also love lighthouses, and listening to books while driving. Add all that together and you have two of my favorite trips so far... Way back in the summer 2000 I bought my first brand new car: a Jeep Wrangler that I ordered from the factory with exactly the options I wanted (I had to order it…

Hi @Dave Bosman _Inetum_ , I think @[deleted] is on Cloud...if so he probably does not have access to the audit log. @[deleted] if you are not able to get to the audit log please reach out to Atlassian via https://support.atlassian.com/contact/, they should be able to help investigate this for you. -Scott

Hi Fred, I'd say that a technical initiative is too big for a story; you should at least treat them as epics, and break them down into smaller pieces for the stories. Should you use components? Maybe...Does the development of the initiatives cross projects? If you are going to have stories, tasks, epics, etc. for these…

Hi @Scott_Harman , When a sprint is completed, the user has the ability to select where the incomplete issues are placed. They can be moved to the next sprint, a later sprint, or the backlog. I'm not aware of any security settings that would prevent this; if the user can manage sprints then they are able to move the issues…
-
Hi @Grace J. Baker , Generally speaking, the sprints are started by the scrum master. It is their responsibility to lead the story grooming and sprint planning sessions, start the sprint, run the stand-ups, remove roadblocks and distractions so the sprint team can focus on the work, work with the product owner during the…

@Teodora V _Warsaw Dynamics_ I'm always up for a pool party...I fly in on Sunday, though so count me as a "maybe" depending on when I get in.

Hi @David Salazar , We are not able to help you with this in the Community, this is a question for Atlassian. Your best option is to contact them directly here: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/ Good luck, I hope they are able to figure it out for you. -Scott

Hi @Clay Porter , How are you tracking and recording risks? There are a number of different ways to create a risk matrix, depending on what you are using. -Scott
-
Hi @Daniel Verghese , Do you have a Scrum board associated with that project? If not you will need to add one to get the Agile reports. -Scott
-
Hi @Sinead_Barry , Yes, you can feed a scrum board from multiple projects. You will first ant to create a filter that pulls in the isses from all the projects that you want to work on through the board, then create the new board with the "use existing saved filter" option. Note that you will need to map all the statuses to…

I can't wait for Summit! I'm traveling solo as well, and I fully expect to be overwhelmed for at least a day. My goals for the week are to learn more about setting up dashboards and reporting and leading change in an organization I'm working with a VP to set up a new PMO in IT, and I am doing everything I can to make…

Hi @João Rocha , There is information on how to configure the scatter chart here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf510/chart-macro-829077551.html Hope this helps, -Scott

Another question...is the customer using SourceTree 1.8.1?
-
Hi @slsdeveloper , Are you on a Server, Data Center, or Cloud implementation? Also, since Jira is web-driven, are you using IE or Chrome? -Scott
-
Hi @Juanita De Jong , Like the burndown question, the short answer is you don't. Story points only count as complete when the entire story is complete. If the team did not complete the story in the current sprint all of the points go to the next sprint. If you are looking to track "completeness" of a story then I suggest…
-
Hi @Juanita De Jong , In Agile, stories that are not completed in the sprint do not count towards the total points, and the velocity for the team is based on the points for completed stories, not the points for all work efforts regardless of whether the stories are completed or not. . So, by definition there are no…

Hi @Christopher Rios , Here is how I do it: * Jira Settings* Issues* Field Configuration* Find your custom field and click "Screens" on the right site * Check the boxes for the screens you want to add the field to. Note that this works if you have specific screens tied to screen schemes for specific projects. And...make…

Thanks @Colin Helke , I'll check it out.

@Meg Holbrook It's the "Pants on Fire" badge
-
I probably enjoy earning badges WAY too much. This morning I started writing an article about brainstorming using software, saved it as a draft and BOOM! I earned the "5 articles" badge. Now I just need to finish and publish it so my badge is legit.

Hi @[deleted] , Try using the function closedSprints().. closedSprints() IN ("Sprint Name")and status-"Done" Let me know if this helps. -Scott

My bad.....The "Administer Projects" and "Browse Projects" are Project permissions, not Global permissions. Those are set through the permission schemes. -Scott
-
There are two different "project" level global permissions in force here... Project permissions Explanation Administer projects Permission to administer a project in Jira. This includes the ability to edit project role membership, project components, project versions, and some project details ('Project Name', 'URL',…
-
Hi @MJ Jafari , I'm not sure if this will work; I haven't tried it yet. But... If you add the user to a group and give them the Jira-Admin role, but do not give the group the "Browse Projects" global permission then the user may be able to create projects without seeing the full list of projects, and add that group to your…
-
Hi @Shawn Glasper , Unfortunately, that function is no longer available in the new view. There is an open request to add it back, you can vote for it here: JRACLOUD-70920 As a work around you can turn off the new view by clicking your icon in the lower left corner of the Jira window, selecting "Personal Settings" and…

@Rast , here's a link to one of the most valuable pieces of documentation on Jira I've found: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/advanced-searching-fields-reference-939938743.html -Scott

Sorry to hear about your injury! Your boss probably recognized you and was embarrassed himself for being a road-hogging jerk :) Road rage can be scary...It's a bit long to type out here but if you are at Summit (and we remember) I'll tell you about one that happened to me where a guy pulled a gun and followed me into the…
-
Oh, believe me...I understand. I do the same thing! If this work around is ok, can you click the "accept answer" button? That will help others find it in the forum and let others know it is solved. -Scott?

Hi @Pam Graunke , The only way I know to do this in Jira Cloud is to use a CRT+CLICK to open in a new tab or SHIFT-CLICK to open in a new window, instead of just a click. It's not perfect, but easier than a right-click and open in a new tab or window. Hope this helps a bit, -Scott
