  • Hi Radha, You can create all the tasks in Jira, including the development issues, your issues as scrum master, tasks for the Product Manager, etc. and separate them out with filters on your boards. I suggest adding a label to the issues to identify the type of task, story, or whatever and then filtering on the issues. You…
  • Yes...you could have all the tasks in the Kanban board and only the sprint tasks in the Scrum board. To set it up pull all the tasks into Kanban and filter the Scrum board by sprint. (e.g. If the story is part of a sprint it shows on both boards. If not it just shows on the Kanban board.) As you move a story through the…
  • Hi Rachel, Have you tried a Kanban board instead of a Scrum board? By it's nature, a Scrum story is a "one and done" type of task; it gets added to a sprint when the scrum team is ready to develop it. If thew story is not completed during the sprint then it should be put back in the backlog. A Kanban board, however, does…
  • Hi Darragh, From a purely Scrum standpoint, I'm not sure if this is the best way to manage your estimates; the developer should be estimating on the task/story level (Note that in Jira the Task and Story issue types are at the same level; a Story is a development effort to "create" something like writing a piece of code…
  • Hi Amir, So far the only way I see to print ALL the details is to export it to an xml file....not very "human readable." If there is a better way I'd like to know too! -Scott
  • You may find what you need in the audit log the Application Settings...go to Site Administration, Application Settings (select Confluence) and scroll down to the Audit Log in the Administration section. -Scott
  • @Bryan Trummer - ReleaseTEAM All of that plus Mjolnir. (Bonus!)
  • Hi Ron, If you click on the ellipses on the top right you should see a menu item "page history." That will bring up a screen that shows all the versions of the page. Clicking on one will open that version. From there you can compare it with the current version, navigate between versions, etc. Hope this helps, -Scott
  • Hi Vasilis, I assume the page access for deleting is restricted to the user that is no longer with the company. If so, your administrator should have permissions to delete the page. If the admin user can't delete it then ask your site administrator to reactivate the user's account in Confluence and click the "Log in as…
  • Hi Tom, Have you tried printing to a .pdf file using the browser's print function? I haven't needed to export to Word yet, but when I need a .pdf I just print it rather than export. It's a work around, but it may help. -Scott
  • You can create an Issue Filter for the releases by going to Search Issues, leaving the Projects field set to All, then using the "More" dropdown to filter on the field you use to indicate the release in the issue. Save the filter, then use is in the gadget when you create/edit it. (In the Project or Saved Filter field.)…
  • If you are using Jira Server this link may help: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/where-are-the-application-server-logs-695240952.html If not or if you are using Cloud you may need to contact support to get them. -Scott
  • I'm a "journey before destination" kind of guy so... I'd like to be Ralph Hinkley from "The Greatest American Hero." He's just an ordinary guy who gets superpowers from a suit that the aliens gave him, and he lost the directions. The fun part would be the challenge of discovery. Since I would also have to lose the…
  • Hi Mr. Email Bot :) There is probably an error in the post function. Steps to troubleshoot can be found here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/We-can-t-create-this-issue-for-you-right-now-it-could-be-due-to/qaq-p/83478 -Scott
  • Could be a wild goose chase, but...Are you using MSSQL 2008? If so you may need to upgrade to 2016. -Scott
  • Ahhh...I understand. I tested it and ran into the same problem. I created a new issue type screen without Epic Link and a screen scheme that included it, using Create, Edit and View for that type with the new screen. The Epic Link field remained available in each function. I suggest raising it as an issue by clicking the…
  • The best way for you is probably to set up a filter on the "Done Issues." Here is how: Go to "Done Issues" Enter this in the search box: statusCategory = Done and issuetype = Epic order by Key Click "Save As" at the top and save the filter as "Done Epics" That will place the custom filter "Done Epics" in the left hand…
  • I'm sure there are other ways...where do you want to see it? If you have a Kanban board, it will show up in the "Done" column, you can set up a "Created vs. Resolved" report and filter on epics, and more.
  • Yes, when you open your project there is an "Issues" menu item on the left hand side. Click that and you will get a list of options for the issues...All Issues, My Open Issues, etc. One of those should be "Done Issues." If you don't have it your admin may have restricted it in the permissions scheme. -Scott
  • Hi Barsha, Could you share a bit more information? Specifically, where are you looking for the done epic to show? The easiest way to find the epic is to go into "Issues" and select "Done Issues." It should show up there. -Scott
  • Tom, thank you for this! It helped solve an issue I was having in Big Picture for the last few weeks. In my system, this field ID is for "Story Points." In my project, not all stories have points, so the calculations in Big Picture were kicking out warnings using that custom field ID. Once I used your locator URL I…
  • There is a new feature request that seems to be gathering momentum, even though it is very old. You can review it here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-7020 If enough people vote for it Atlassian may decide to finally implement it. -Scott
  • You could name the custom select list "Agree or Disagree?" and make it required. When the user drops down the list then the two options are shown. That would maintain the esthetics and keep the solution simple. Otherwise you may need a JSOM script. I don't know how to write them yet, but I can picture the logic: Set both…
  • You'll need to set filters on each of the boards for each stage. You can create a custom field as a drop box or add a Label that indicates the phase or stage of development for each of the boards and create filters for each board to show only the issues that have that stage selected. As issues move from stage to stage just…
  • Hi Norman, Do you have a status in the workflow that indicates the phase? If so, you can set up a filter on the board to show only the phases you want to see. Create the board, then click the ellipses in the top right, select Board Settings, and scroll down to Filter. There is a link there for the filter query, if you…
  • I haven't tried using them on the customer page, but you may be able to configure them that way. You can apply the add-in for a free trial period to test it out. -Scott
  • There a couple of add-ons you can purchase to add traffic lights, the one I've used in the past is here: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/de.polscheit.jira.plugins.traffic-light_status/cloud/overview -Scott
  • I've wracked my brain over this and the short answer is that I don't think you can without at least setting up a screen scheme for the "Epic" issue type. From there, add a custom check box for "Show Epic Link" and some conditions on the Epic Link field to only be visible when that box is checked. -Scott
  • Hi Anitha, Atlassian has some documentation on how to create custom fields for issues, you can learn more about it here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/configuring-a-custom-field-776636423.html Hope this helps, -Scott
  • Can you go to the tag list Monique mentioned and do "Control - F" to perform a search? -Scott
