Hi @Thomas Schlegel! Some Scrum Masters and Product Owners separate the Product Backlogs and Sprint Backlogs during sprint planning; the product backlog contains all of the stories in the project. During sprint planning, the PO selects the stories for the next sprint and then moves them to the sprint backlog. The Scrum…

Hi Elif, There are a few examples in the Community, here is one: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Required-field-and-condition/qaq-p/752807 Hope this helps, -Scott

Hi @TerenceL, Have you checked your "External Links" setting in Confluence? https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/hiding-external-links-from-search-engines-724765572.html -Scott

Definitely get Confluence; you'll need it for collaboration and document storage. If you are using a strict waterfall methodology with stage gates it will make it easier to review/revise your project artifacts. Here is some information on Jira Software vs. Jira Core:…

Hi @Mauro Cavioli, I recommend using either Big Picture or Big Gantt to easily manage your projects at a program level. Both include gantt charts and allow you to create interdependencies between the projects within the program. Big Picture has some additional features like a risk registry matrix. Good luck! -Scott

Hi Gaurav, I can think of a couple of things to check first... 1) Refresh your browser. If you were given permissions recently you may need to refresh the browser to pull in the new access rights 2) Check to make sure you are on a Scrum board and viewing the backlog. Are there existing sprints available? If not you'll need…

Hi @Benny Argo, There is a relatively new AUG in Birmingham, you may want to join it online and check there for active members or contact th ehost of their kick-off event. Birmingham AUG -Scott

HI @Onno Cleijpool, You may need to first reactivate the user; find the user in User Management and click the link to Activate. You should be able to access the space once the user is active and delete it. (You probably need to be the site-admin to do this.) -Scott

BTW...Keep in mind that the Epic Burndown report is only available for Software projects; you won't see that option in Reports if you are using a Business or Service Desk project. -Scott

Hi Alex, Your English is fine :) Jira has an "Issue Links" field that will allow you to link an issue with another to create the connection and set the type of link to "Blocks" or "Is Blocked by." "Has to be done before" or other dependency types. This is standard functionality, if you do not have access to this field your…

Hi Victor, You don't necessarily have to switch to a Business project to use Kanban; you can instead just create a new Kanban board using the existing project. Go into an existing board, click the ellipses on the right, choose Create Board, select Kanban and follow the steps to add it to your project. Hope this helps,…

Could you add a screen shot of the error message? -Scott

Now this is a conundrum...how can I reconcile my desire to live a life of comfort, free from worry over fulfilling Maslow's needs for me and mine while at the same time helping others? I want to use my power for good, I tell you! An unlimited supply of rice to feed the world? How would I ship it from my house in Cleveland?…

Hi Andras, I just re-red your question....you are looking for a way to create a Jira issue from Confluence that does not reside in a project until the PMO user goes into the issue in Jira and assigned it, correct? In that case then no, I don not believe there is a way to create an issue without putting it into a project.…
-
Hi Andras, If you select a section of text on the confluence page and hover over it with your mouse you'll get a button to create a Jira issue. That should allow you to select the project from a dropdown box. Is that what you are looking for? -Scott

Hi All, I can't really say how Atlassian products have changed the way the team works, rather I have to say Jira and Confluence (and a few add-ons) have changed how I work. When I joined in December I had never used Jira; I was stuck in MS Project. Since then I've been given great latitude with our Jira instance and am…

Hi Brian, When I need a PDF I usually print it to PDF right from the browser. This lets the print driver render the page rather than relying on Confluence to get right. If you are having trouble getting it to Word or HTML you can try printing to PDF then converting from that file. It's an extra step but should take care of…

I don't see a way to create a service desk project from an existing non-service desk one, but I assume that when you created the current project you also created a set of permission and workflow schemes, along with others, to go with it. If that is true then you should be able to create your service desk project and assign…

If you click the "add a filter" link it will give you more options and functions.

I'm not embarrassed by my theme song, you shouldn't be either... https://youtu.be/hM5UJvnbbuY

Hi Eric, I've done this in Jira with an add-on, see details here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-questions/Jira-Backbone-issue-quot-backsync-quot/qaq-p/742781 -Scott

Thanks @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-, that is what I'm using. -Scott

Hi Tushar, I use Confluence for this. I have a "Standard Project Issues" page in the team space that contains all the stories and tasks needed for every project. Whenever a PM starts a new project they go into this page, select each story, and create the Jira issue and add it to the new project from there. It's not as…

Do you know the time to resolution on the issues that are not displaying the SLA? All of the issues with SLAs in your screen shot are within limits; It would be interesting to know if the issues without SLAs went over. -Scott

Hi Matthias, I have a project that sounds like it has a similar scale as yours. In my project the subtasks were large (over 8 hours) and I wanted to limit them to be work that could be completed in a single day. (Assuming full resources, no conflicts, etc. etc. etc.) Similar to Micky, I set my Epics as Projects in JIra, my…

Hi Fahad, Have you tried using the NOT IN operator? ("...labels not in (Label1, Label2") I've successfully used IN (Label1, Label2), I'm guessing NOT IN will work as well. -Scott

Do you know if your default screen scheme is associated with the "Create" operation? (I'm guessing that it is, but it's worth a look.) Click on the "Default Screen Scheme" link and then the "Associate an issue operation with a screen" button. That will allow you to select Create, Edit, and View (one at a time) and assign…

HI Aparna, Do you have screen schemes set up for the Epic and Sub-Task issue types? When you go into the issue type scheme check the screen configuration scheme for each type and make sure it is is associated with the Create, View, and Edit functions. -Scott

Hi Wiley, if you hover your mouse over the leftmost edge of the sidebar the cursor should change to a horizontal arrow. That will allow you to click/drag the sidebar to make it smaller or hide it completely. -Scott

I believe there is a global permission called "Create Shared Objects" that will restrict who can create boards. For more information check out the documentation here" https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/permissions-overview-764478244.html -Scott
