You'll need to go into the configuration of the User picker custom field and select Edit User Filtering. From there you can choose a group.

Hi @Lisa Perry Everything already mentioned I also recommend. Especially all the free courses on Atlassian University. In terms of managing Jira: * Keep it simple, always. * Keep it organized. Come up with a good naming convention for screens, schemes, workflows, and groups. * Try to keep custom fields to a minimum and as…

@Daniel Ebers Same here! I attended the discussion today and completed all other requirements. @Monique vdB Any ideas?

The discussion today was great! It was also nice seeing so many community members in there. Especially a few legendary ones. :) Although our cloud migration happened back in 2019, it's great to see how the resources and knowledge have grown since. There's never been a better time to move to cloud, imho.

* There is no change if a site has set up a customized homepage. This change is only for the default homepage. You can learn more about customizing a homepage for your site here. @DJ Chung Our site homepage was customized. However, I reverted the homepage to the default template. Will this new home page version be pushed…

Hi @Gavin You'll want to go into your plan configuration and check how many days is set to exclude completed tickets from the view. If you're tickets were completed outside of this threshold, they will not show on the plan.
-
Hi @Dömök Rita You simply need to commit the changes you made, in this case, creating a new Epic, to Jira and the Epic will be created. Please see the info here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/save-changes-made-in-advanced-roadmaps/

Hi Marcus, Are you using a Kanban or Scrum board? It all comes down to how you have the statuses mapped in the board configuration. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/ If you are using a scrum board, you will not see any tickets in the "board view" until you start a sprint. And any…

Hi Shiri, First, I would always suggest adopting a policy of avoiding Sub-tasks on Epics. They need to be moved to regular tickets linked to the Epic via the Epic Link. It's confusing to users and leads to requests like this. :) Also, are you using the old issue view? If so, you should know that in the new issue view,…

Hi Joao, I do not know of a way to do what you are asking via the Description field without utilizing a third party plugin such as Bulk Clone. However, if you create a custom multi-line text field and set the field to be a wiki-style renderer, you will be able to set a default value for any context you create for it. More…

Hi Georgi, I would love to know more about your use case to fully understand the ask. You can put validators on the create transition but that would not prohibit being able to change the issue type. You would need to make sure all the issue types were sharing the same workflow if you wanted to change the issue type via the…

Thanks for the great response, Alex. Yes, we have 1 instance. Spinning up multiple instances (sites) has not been a need for us. At least yet. Maybe someday if we get really really big and have acquisitions where multiple sites could be thrust upon us.
-
Aww thanks!

I think you'd be better off embedding a URL of the project category search. I don't know of a way to do what you are describing. Especially out of the box. So, if you go to the Projects drop down --> View All Projects --> Update the category drop down to the desired one --> Grab the URL and embed. It would look something…

Hi @e b The new status would need to be mapped to the In Progress column or to its own new column. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/ You can access the board settings in the top right corner of the board (3 dot menu) if you are a board admin. Then go to Columns. Then drag the new…

Our Development teams share a workflow across their standard issue types. However, the workflow is built with "All" transitions on each status so the teams can still "customize" how they use their workflows in their boards while still allowing us to use a templated workflow.

Hi Aamina, I wish there was a way I could understand your current process at a higher level. Is the Reporter mentioned in the Description not the person creating the ticket to begin with? If not, my gut reaction is when this form is being created, have a user picker field completed. Once that is, you can use that to…

Love this @Patrícia Fortunato Montenegro! It's very similar to the lessons I've learned in my own life and learning through therapy. You can't stop your feelings and it's okay to feel them. Let it happen. But taking a step back and understand why you are feeling them gives you a new sense of control over those feelings and…

Not to do a shameless plug but normalizing saying no. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Teamwork-Lab-discussions/Tips-amp-Lessons-for-2022-Normalize-saying-quot-No-quot/m-p/1906764#M1281 I think it's very important that we work to reduce the stigma around saying no in the workplace. We need to be comfortable expressing…

Virtual happy hours.... remember those? LOL I think those of us who tried it all had the best of intentions but it's amazing how much of a difference it made when it came to not actually being near your friends/co-workers. However, I will say virtual escape rooms were pretty cool. Being hands on would always be preferred…

This could come in so handy with things like Big Room Planning. I'd love to see where this goes over time.

I love it when we get a new perspective in our team. We've been lucky enough to grow our team over the last couple years and have that "new set of eyes" has paid huge dividends. I'm a firm believer in hiring people better and smarter than yourself and then supporting them and getting out of their way! It's been an absolute…

Great stuff, Andy! I've actually found it easier for me to delegate now than before. However, I'm much more conscious and sensitive to people's time and workloads than I was before. Work/Life balance is so important. WFH burnout is real. If I know my team is working abnormal/extra hours, I make sure to encourage them to…

The Expanse feels more like what our future will be as opposed to the future utopia in Star Trek. I know we'd all love the latter future more but it's almost eerie how familiar The Expanse feels with each passing year. But, just like with the show, I believe the good in humanity will win out in the end. We have our…

Currently figuring out which one I'm going to post. I've got several. Love this topic!

JWM has come such a long way from Jira Core. And I know a lot of the great features from JWM have started making their way into Jira Software and JSM. Super excited about that!
