I am SO EXCITED to see this up and running again @Graham Hannington ! ❤️ I had really been missing it, since I don't have access to view/edit storage format on my corporate instance. I really appreciate your generous restoration of this tool.

I will give this another try @alejandra.rosales . (I'm using Confluence data center not Cloud). The last time I tried to do this, the new page from template was created in the same space as the template source, not the current space where I was adding a page. I will try again and post my results!

This works great and I like to put "search only this space" as a placeholder, to clarify that it will return only results from the current space. So it looks something like this: {livesearch:additional=none|id=LiveSearch01|placeholder=Search only this wiki|spaceKey=Mywiki|size=small}

Well I am very curious now to see how this is different for Cloud users! If there aren't any changes other than UI changes, that would be disappointing. Previously, using Confluence server/data center, I wrote up a "survival guide" to keep myself from going crazy using the Word import…

This worked beautifully and saved me thousands of clicks. Not just in Confluence, but in email as I dispose of email notifications. Thank you very much!
-
@Kythera it is a placeholder, but my preferred placeholder. :-) Many of my test pages feature snack foods.
-
I was able to use this information to create a CSS stylesheet for a page and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
-
@Dominic Lagger this is exciting, I was able to use this to add a "button" to a space header that creates a page from a specific template. Awesome!

@Tom U. I have seen similar strange and frustrating behavior in both data center and Cloud. It seems the Page Properties Report macro really doesn't like it when there's anything other than plain text in the table cells. :-( This is frustrating one of our teams; they are putting the Status macro in a field like you are. I…

You are so right @[deleted] the four labs are very different which is part of the challenge. I'm intrigued by the idea of "news" that could help distinguish between older legacy information and the more recent information from team I. I am curious to learn more about "facets" too.

Thanks @Matt Reiner _K15t_ for the shout-out! Hi @Jeff BurrellI'd start by asking two questions, * what is the scale or scope of your import? If it is just one or a few documents, converting to plain text, importing, then redoing the formatting is the safest bet. * what is the purpose of the formatting you want to…

Hi @Anna Dziubańska for the time being I have been using the Page Properties & Report macros. This is indeed generating a list like I intended but there are a couple of drawbacks. * The PPR report is not sorting properly by one of the columns (Confluence 7.4.3). Not sure if this is a bug, need to research. * Some team…

In case anyone still has this question, the Reporting add-on by ServiceRocket has a supplier that can list incoming and outgoing links for a page. Here is the supplier: https://docs.servicerocket.com/suppliers/list-of-suppliers/page-supplier I have used it to find outgoing links in general and outgoing links to a…

I can relate to what you said about the icons in the macro list. I created my own "macro directory" to help get a handle on that. Nice article and great to hear that a very experienced Atlassian user gives Confluence the thumbs up!…

I have seen the use of nested Expand macros to mimic the behavior of menu choices in an interface.
-
And I discovered that the AUI Tabs addon/macro can be used to mockup a page that mimics the behavior of a website, by nesting and alternating the horizontal and vertical tabs.
-
I discovered that wiki markup can be used in the header and footer fields to include things on every new page in the wiki, even if someone hasn't used a template.
-
I have a similar situation and would also like to know the answer! In my case, the "duplicate" listing in the sidebar page tree is at the very bottom. I'm guessing someone created a new page and then moved it to the correct place in the tree. Same tiny URL, same page ID. Clicking on the one at the bottom of the page tree…

I'm excited to see you start this list @Darryl Lee ! I added a couple things I've looked into, feel free to reorganize them in the list. It seems there could be a section about "basic" or "core" Confluence functionality, and perhaps another section on "extras" or functionality typically delivered by apps/add-ons/plugins ?…

Luckily for me this is true at our company too! Users wanting a new wiki space have to enter space purpose, etc. on the request form, but it doesn't make it through to the new space when it's set up. I will be working with our system admins to coach people to take the next steps to set up their new space, but it is an…

There is a PlantUML Spacegraph macro, but I'm not sure if it's available in Cloud. https://avono-support.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PUML/pages/17727490/Macro+spacegraph

Hi @Donna Marr In one of our wiki spaces at work (data center), a previous wiki admin had set up a space to use a specific font. This involved uploading the font files to a wiki page, then setting parameters in the space's stylesheet to use the font for specific HTML elements. I don't know if this capability is in Cloud.…
-
Thank you @Donna Marr My investigation so far has been in Data Center. I will compare functionality in my personal Cloud instance in the near future. I have gotten used to the add-ons we have at work and I'm not sure what I'll do without them in Cloud! I too would appreciate a comparison chart that is more detailed…

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it would be nice if system admins had the option to make the space "description" and "categories" fields required for every wiki space. In an instance with hundreds of spaces, this could help people quickly identify and understand what's in the spaces they're looking for. I…
-
Bingo! Yeah! I feel like I should get extra bingos for the number of times I have overthought a page layout!!!
-
I've published quite a few articles on our use cases, but they are all for server/data center. :-(
-
I'm interested in that too!

What a coincidence, I am building out a new space admin guide titled "So you've got a new wiki, now what?" It covers the basics on page tree structure, permissions, essential home page info, navigation, search, engaging users and doing other admin stuffs. I plan to write a Community article in the near future.

Here is one example from my personal "wiki laboratory," a "splash screen" or "hero image" with a floating box with links that is formatted with some simple CSS.

I don't know if your wiki format would lend itself to this idea, but one thing I tried was doing a mail merge in MS Word, piping data from Excel into an MS Word doc (one page per record). The Word doc could then be imported into Confluence. But the page layout/formatting might not translate as desired.
