Error "Something went wrong" when creating a new Atlassian site

Hello Atlassian Support Team,

I am encountering an error while trying to create a new Atlassian site (Jira free trial).

When I enter the site name and click "Continue", the page shows an error message: "Something went wrong. Please try again. If this keeps happening, please contact support."

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists:

* Tried different site names (e.g., unique names with random characters).
* Cleared browser cache and cookies.
* Tried using an Incognito/Private window and a different browser (Chrome/Edge).
* Switched network environments.

Here is the detailed error information provided on the screen:

* Anonymous ID: c4dd9a6b-7c8b-45bc-f6f2-48774861f3ff

Could you please help investigate why this Anonymous ID is being blocked or failing to create a site?

Just to quickly add something here — since you've already tried different browsers, networks, and site names, there are a couple of alternative approaches you could try.

Create an organization first, then add Jira

Create a new (empty) Atlassian Organization and add a new app/site from there.

Step-by-step guide

* Go to

https://admin.atlassian.com/o/create

* Create a new organization without any apps.
* Once created, open https://admin.atlassian.com and select your organization.
* Navigate to Apps → Atlassian apps → Add app.
* Select Jira and follow the prompts to create a new site.

Note that the organization-only setup may also prompt you to start an Atlassian Guard Standard trial.

Use an existing organization

If you already have an Atlassian organization, you could try adding Jira directly from there instead of going through the regular signup process. Pretty much the same steps as above after you create an organization. 👆

Welcome to the community! Error that you got during Atlassian site creation is typically a temporary backend glitch or provisioning failure on Atlassian's servers rather than an issue with your account credentials. What I can suggest to you is to try it again now or few hours later.
