Hi everyone,
I'm facing an issue with Jira on our existing Atlassian site.
I recently joined the company, and I understand that Jira was previously working correctly on this site. The last time Jira was known to be accessible was around September 2026.
Currently, when I check our Atlassian Administration → Billing/Subscriptions section, I can see several Atlassian apps and products, including Projects, Assets, Teams, Goals, and Jira Product Discovery, but there is no separate Jira application listed.
We are currently using the Free plan. However, I specifically wanted to access the Jira application because I need to downgrade the Jira plan from Standard to Free.
I was following the steps discussed in this Atlassian Community post:
https://community.atlassian.com/forums/discussion/2905800/cannot-change-standard-plan-back-to-free-plan?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=standard+plan+to+free+plan
However, I cannot access the Jira application to manage or change the plan.
I also tried adding Jira through Atlassian Administration → Apps → Atlassian apps → Add app and selecting the existing site, but I encountered an error during the process.
Interestingly, when I create a new Atlassian instance, Jira appears correctly. The issue seems to be specifically related to our existing site.
Could someone please help me understand:
- Why would Jira disappear or no longer be accessible on an existing site when it was previously working?
- How can I restore/access Jira on the existing site?
- Is there a way to downgrade the previous Jira Standard plan to the Free plan without creating a new site or instance?
We would prefer to continue using the existing site and avoid creating a separate instance.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
