Application Links Confluence<->Jira: Make Jira only visible to licensed users

Hello,

setup: Jira Software 7.13 & Confluence 6.11.2

Is there any to setup the bidirectional application in such a way that after login in confluence only the users that are licensed for Jira can see Jira in the upper left menu in confluence.

Currently we have 2000 users for confluence and only 25 for jira. We made application links between the two systems.

The problem is, that everyone who logs in in confluence sees Jira in the upper left dropdown menu. Even worse, they get a message to login into jira.

Obviously we would like only the jira-users who login into confluence to see the functionality. Is there any way to implement this?

@Hugo You can also restrict the links in the Application Navigator to specific users via groups.

Please note that you need to setup the visibility of the link in both JIRA's and Confluence's Application Navigator pages.

 

What you may do is that you can limit the visibility of Confluence link in JIRA to "jira-software-users" group and limit the visibility of JIRA link in Confluence to a newly created custom group, that only contains the same users as present in 'jira-software-users' group.
