migrate from self hosted to cloud

Question

Hi,

Id like to move jira and service desc from our server to cloud.

How to move tasks, projects, users?

we also use Tempo timesheet plugin is there chance to move it all to cloud?

If I buy license for 10 users and pay for whole year 100$ what will happened when I add new user?

Start at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/migrating-from-jira-server-to-jira-cloud-779160826.html - that will get all your data over, apart from Tempo.

For Tempo, have a read through their migration docs (the main migration will take a lot of it, but the change of type of App means some stuff you need to be aware of)

I assume your question about adding a new user is about how Cloud will handle you adding user number 11, exceeding your licence?  In this case, it will increase your licence tier and increase your billing.

Hello,

I can answer the first question.

You should take a backup of you server instance and restore it to cloud. Accounts and Teams from Tempo  will not be migrated to Cloud. You should migrate Accounts and Teams manually

Migrating from Server to Cloud ( or vice versa) is currently not supported by Tempo (https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TEMPO/pages/201359381/Can+I+migrate+between+Tempo+for+Cloud+and+Tempo+for+Server)
