How to link the defect change status with the outlook mailbox. If there is any status change in defect raised in jira, the mail should trigger. How do i link it with my mails.?

Yo should setup the project notificaiton scheme. In a project notification scheme you will see events and roles, groups and users, who are notified, if this event fires for an issue in this project. You can find the update issue event among availbale events. But you would need the Generic event. The Generec event is triggered on the Status change. But it fires for all status changes. If you want to watch a particular status change, you would need to create a custom event and then define for this event users, groups and roles, who must receive a notificaiton, in the project notification schemes.

Check the notification scheme for the project. That tells you who gets emailed when things on an issue change.
