Is it possible to disable cloning for a specific step?

I have very large files in the repo ~2GB.
My pipeline consists of multiple steps, not all of them actually need access to the sources (f. ex a deployment step only need to know commit hash to perform deployment). However all of the steps clone the repo every time. this is just a waisting of time and resources.

Is it possible to disable cloning for a step?

Currently we don't support that, but its definitely a valid use case. We have a feature request open for this that you can vote for / watch.
