How to change a custom field depending on the reporters e-mail address

Question

I like to change a custom field depending on who the reporter is. All reporters with one specific e-mail address should set the custom fields value to something else then the default.

Automation won't let me do it, so I thought of doing this in a post function with script runner but is unsure how to do it?

I forgot to mention one importen thing, I am using Jira service desk.

So if the customer/reporter from a specific e-mail address sends e-mail then I want to atomatic set a value in a custom field(cascading select list).

If you can trab the email adress with groovy i think its doable. Maybe ypu can use behaviour and make read only the customfield only if user have a different mail that other customer. If theses users are in a group you can do it without script in behaviour.
