When using category filters on a board, the board doesn't appear in the expected projects

Assume two projects PRA and PRB, both with the category "somecat".

If a board has the filter

category = somecat

it will not show up in either PRA or PRB.

However, if the filter is changed to

project in (PRA,PRB)

the board will show up in both projects.

It's important to note that the board itself works properly, all issues in PRA and PRB would be matched by the filter, the issue is only that the board wouldn't be accessible from either project.

Hello Jordan,

In fact, the behavior you mentioned is already reported to our development team. The behavior is intended since queries that can return several projects with generic parameters can overload JIRA application.

That being said, we created a feature request to improve JIRA structure and add this functionality:

- Project sidebar does not list boards if the query uses the category field or a sub-filter
