Copy field value from linked issues (JMWE add-on) Function - Epic > Story

I am trying to implement the JMWE post function for copying fields from an Epic to Story. We would like users to input fields into the epic, and have them carry down automatically on create of a story.

We are then creating the Story from the epic panel of the epic ticket:

Currently, none of the fields are being copied down to the story. Ticket creates successfully, with no errors. I also see the newly created issues in the "Issues in Epic" panel on the original epic and can see the new issues when querying ""Epic Link" = DP-4".

I have tried moving the "Creates issue originally" to after the post function and still no luck.

One thing to note, is there is not a Jira link for Epic, but I'm not sure that matters: Screen Shot 2018-08-27 at 11.14.35 AM.png

Hi Daniel,

this is because you confused the two link directions. You need the "belongs to Epic (from Story to Epic)" link type, since the current issue (the issue to which the transition applies) is the Story, not the Epic.

Weird use case. If i move the post functions to the next transition, i still can't get the fields to copy down using the Epic Link.

Im starting to think the "linkage" is not connected. This story is connected via Epic Link. Is that correct?

Note that for normal link types, it would be obvious from the link name that appears on the issue (e.g. "blocks" vs "is blocked by") but in the case of the Epic/Story link, it doesn't appear as such so you can't see the actual link direction name.
