Can jira be used in conjuntion with Git?

Our source code, Pull Requests, and validations are done in Git.

I like jira, but want to understand to what level can it communicate with GitHub code

@Miguel Batis in case you don't want to (or aren't able to) use Bitbucket, Atlassians own GIT-Solution, you can use an app to integrate GIT with JIRA: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=git
