How can I set up custom email notifications as a non-administrator?

Regular jira user. I want to be notified every time a new issue is created for project A.

How do I do that?

Hi @Christine Ritchie,

You should contact your system administrator, modify project A's email notification scheme, and trigger a separate email notification when issue is created

Thanks, Ollie. Not unexpected but not what I wanted to hear. We're losing so much functionality going from home grown system to Jira. Unbelievable.

I don't quite understand what you mean. Which version are you using now?Server 7.X?6.X？Cloud？

Our current home grown system individual users have the ability to set up their own custom email notifications... sounds like for Jira you have to have the administrator due that for a project.
