we want edit option for resolution field so that user can edit the resolution.
we dont want it to change automatically

There can be different reasons why the Resolution field changes automatically:

Create transitions from "closed" back to "closed" (or whatever your "end status" are), and give those transitions screens which include the resolution field.
NO NO NO - Never put the resolution field on the edit screen. This breaks your system because issues become closed while open.
Answered too quickly and didn't think of that! Thanks for the correction.
How do we remove it once added? I don't seem to have it in my workflow, when i remove it from my fields it doesn't change the transition.
