I have existing mature projects with custom workflows, but I'd like to offer Epics to my users.
Associate the issue type Epic for the Issue Type Scheme for your project.
Associate Story Point and Epic/Theme custom fields in the Card Styles for the Epic, Story issue types.
And check whether you task board status mapping includes the workflow statuses Open, In Progress, Resolved and Closed (I am assuming that you have not customized the Epic, Story and Technical Task workflows)
