API Linked Issue Error - No Link Issue Permission for issue

Question

Hi,

I'm trying to get a request from a service desk, create a clone issue on jira server and then create a link between them (cause/caused by). When I try to perform this action I get this message:

No Link Issue Permission for issue

I verify on customer service project on permission scheme that the user I use for the rest post is enable to create link issues.

Any suggest?

I have a similar issue. Trying to link issue A with closed issue B using linkissue API.

I have permission to edit issue A but I don't have permission to edit issue B.

I can link issue A as 'Implemented by' issue B but when I try to do the opposite then:

* when linking B as 'Implemented by' A I got error "No Link Issue Permission for issue"

* when linking A as 'Implements' B I got error "No issue link type with name 'Implements' found."

I have no problems creating those links using UI.

Hi Valentina,

Issue linking needs permission on both of issues. Can you please run the Permission Helper on both of the projects and check if the user that you are using to perform the REST call has the Link Issue permission?
