What should be the value of JVM_MAX IN jira 6.4 for 75,000 issues

Hi,

We have JIRA 6.4 installed with 75,000 issues and 200 projects. Our instance is big.

We are facing application crashes randomly.

Pls. let me know the value of JVM_HEAP size

We have kept 24 GB physical RAM

There is parameter in setenv.sh file for JAVA heap memory.

Please read Ivan's link for the guidance on JVM parameters.

I don't know what guidance you want about log files, other than "do not delete them until you know what your problems are", because if you do delete them, you'll never be able to find out.

You should set up some form of log rotate though.

Pls. also guide me about the server log files

There are multiple files created in logs.

Which files should be deleted and which should not be deleted.

Is there any limit on the size of server log file,pls. let me know.

For that size, I'd probably set the heap at 1.5 Gb to start with.  Your service is not "big" at all, it's quite small compared to most.

If you're getting crashes, you need to look at their causes.  Fiddling with the memory might be pointless or even make it worse.

What does the log say the crashes are?
