User or group permissions to see Activity tab

Hi,

One of our customers want to be able to see the Activity tab on issue details. From what I understand (but aren't sure), a user need to be in the "jira-developers" group to see it. How can I change or add permissions to a specific user or group to let them see this tab?

P.S. we are using Jira Software 6.3.10.

AFAIK, you cannot limit a user to Activity. The user needs to have browse permissions for the project(s). The question is do you really want your customer to have full browse access? Assuming you do then you can crelate a new group, e.g. customer1 and place all your customers into it then set up browse permissions for the group. Of course each customer requires a license.

Just to be clear. The customer already has access to the project and they are Product Owner as well. They can create, edit, comment and so on. But they cannot see the Activity tab for some reason. So what I need is to know how I can give them permissions to see that part. A collegue told me that you need to be in the "jira-developers" group to get that access but i'm hoping that it can be customized in some way.

that may be true TBH i have always use jira-developers. Is there something about using jira-developers that you wish to avoid? I will do some quick research in the meantime.

Ofcourse the customer should only be able to browse that project as we have a lot of other customers and projects. And also I want to avoid letting the user see internal comments on issues made by jira-developers. So the best solution would be to give the customer permissions through their own group or something.
