Jira status buttons dont change after pressing

Question

Hi

I have question how to get jira issue status buttons to change after pressing that.

at the moment I made new workflow and allowed all transitions on all status levels.

now when i'm opening story etc i see status buttons "in Development" and "Done" after pressing "In development" then this button don't change to "in Testing" (next step of the workflow) I only have drop down list where i can choose all statuses.

long story short, is there possible to customize order of status buttons and when something should appear?

If you’ve setup the workflow to allow all statuses to transition to each other, then there won’t be a strict step-by-step workflow that you walk through with transitions showing at each stage. You can change the order the transitions appear using transition properties (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Chaniging-Order-of-the-Workflow-Transisiton-Buttons/qaq-p/239379) however I’m not sure this will work for you, as you will want these properties to change each time you make a transition.

Those buttons are defined by Transaction Names in the issue workflow. If a button is present on the detailed issue view it means that the issue status is defined as outgoing status for the transaction(button). You should check the workflow configuration for the issue. If you do not need a button for a status then you should delete transaction from the status in the workflow configuration. Do not forget to publish changes after you change the workflow.
