i am trying to create a calculated custom filed in JIRA On demand. I understand that JIRA Misc custom field plugin, Script runner plugin is not available in JIRA on demand. is there any other way/workaround to acheive this?

There is not as best i know. You may be able to do this using a Connect add-on: https://developer.atlassian.com/static/connect/docs/index.html
