What kind of benefit would I get from enabling APR on JIRA or Confluence production?

I should mention that we are using Nginx in front of Atlassian products and that nginx is adding the SSL layer.

Does it makes sense to enable the Apache APR ?

I don't think you will get any measurable performance impact.
