Confluence On Demand is extremely slow and timing out sometimes today

We are experiencing extremely slow (unusable) reponse times with Confluence today (on demand) the site is basically not usable. help!

yes, I did. didn't realize that this question got out here too ... they had to add more memory to our Confluence instance to resolve the problem.
