I can't get the auto fill summary script to work

so I don't want to use summary, and I put

<script type="text/javascript">

if (document.getElementById("Summary").value == "") {

document.getElementById("Summary").value = "RCA";

}

document.getElementById("summaryFieldArea").style.display = "none"

</script>

into the description and it did nothing. Does this still work?
