Set status during creation of task

Sometimes we create tasks that need to be implemented directly. Currently we create a task, go to the backlog and assign select the task for development. We knew when we created the task that it could go directly to this status. Is there a way of setting this task status directly on creation of the task?

No, a workflow can only have one entry point - a single starting status.

There are some options, the usual one is to use something like the automation add-on or Script Runner to detect some data on the new issue and auto-transition it to another status within the workflow.
