Approvals (beta) - how to use in automation

Hi everyone,

I'm testing the new Beta fucntionality Approvals. But I cannot find a way to connect the page approval status to the automation. I mean, how to read the status value and use as a trigger.

It seems that I cans tart approval after trigger but not the opposite. If it would be possible to read the status, I could create condition and use that condition result as trigger for modification on page properties.

My purpose is to create a page that resume the approval status of the child pages (single level tree). But I don't understand how to do.

Hi Fabio,

Arek is correct. CONFCLOUD-85157 confirms that Confluence Automation does not currently have a trigger for native approval status changes. The "Page status changed" trigger does not detect approval events either.

Regarding your second requirement, displaying a summary of your child pages, there is a possible reporting workaround.

You could use the Content Properties and Content Properties Report macros, with the "With parent" filter to include only direct child pages.

However, this would require maintaining the approval status as a separate property on each page. The report would not automatically retrieve or synchronize the native Approvals status.

So this could provide a manually maintained overview, but not the fully automated approval dashboard you're looking for.
