Hi Community 👋
Every service desk starts with an understanding of what a team needs: the requests it handles, the people it supports, and the processes that keep work moving. Turning that understanding into a configured service desk, however, can mean working through request types, forms, workflows, queues, and service targets before the team can get started.
With Solution Composer, you can start with a conversation instead.
We’re excited to announce that Solution Composer is now in Open Beta in Jira Service Management. Powered by Rovo, it helps translate your team’s needs into a working service desk - so you can spend less time on setup and more time delivering service.
Following our Closed Early Access Program, we’re opening the experience more broadly and rolling it out gradually, so it may take a few more days to reach every site. Thank you to the customers and partners who explored it early and shared their feedback. We look forward to learning from more teams as you put Solution Composer to work.
Describe the service you need
Whether you’re setting up an IT help desk or bringing service management to HR, Finance, or another business team, you can begin by describing what you want to achieve in plain language.
For example:
“Create an HR service desk for onboarding, benefits questions, and leave requests, with manager approval for leave.”
Solution Composer uses your description and follow-up questions to understand your requirements and propose a setup. Rather than starting from a blank configuration, you have a tailored plan to work with.
Review and refine before you build
Every team works differently, and the first proposal may not capture everything you need.
Solution Composer gives you the opportunity to review the plan and refine it through conversation before creating your service desk. Ask for changes, clarify a requirement, or adjust the proposed configuration.
You decide what gets built. The experience helps with the setup work while keeping you in control of the outcome.
Turn your plan into a working service desk
Once you approve the plan, Solution Composer brings the configuration together in Jira Service Management.
The Open Beta supports the creation of company-managed service spaces, including request types, forms, workflows, queues, portals, SLAs, and automations. You can then review the created space and make any further adjustments before introducing it to your team.
For admins, this offers a faster starting point for supporting another team. For teams bringing their service processes into Jira Service Management, it makes the path from requirements to configuration more approachable.
Get started with the Open Beta
To try Solution Composer:
- In Jira Service Management, open Create space.
- Select Create with Rovo. (If you don't see Create with Rovo yet, Solution Composer hasn't reached your site. It will appear automatically once it has.)
- Describe the service desk you want to create.
- Work through the conversation to review and refine the proposed plan.
- Approve the plan to create your service space.
For your first try, choose a real use case. Include the types of requests your team handles and the service expectations that matter. This gives Solution Composer a clearer starting point - and gives you a practical way to evaluate the result. You may refer to additional details here.
Help us shape the experience
Open Beta is an important opportunity for us to understand how Solution Composer performs across different teams and service needs.
We’d especially value feedback on how closely the proposed setup matches your requirements, how easy it is to refine the plan, and what additional configuration you need after creation.
Please share your feedback here to help shape the next stage of Solution Composer. Your experience will help us understand where it saves time and where we need to improve.
We’re excited to see what you build and to make getting started with service management simpler, together. Thanks!
