Hello, hoping for help with Egress Management. We are trying to make resolved issue with some of our Microsoft Forms that are integrated via Smart Courses - forms are not showing anymore and adding the source (scr) to the Egress Management > Domain : https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages doesn't resolved the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi @Anthony Guzman
Just to clarify, are you using the Smart Courses for Confluence app to embed Microsoft Forms?
Also, could you share whether you're using Confluence Cloud or Data Center, and whether the forms stopped working recently or have never displayed correctly? 👀
Since this appears to involve a third-party app, you might also want to reach out directly to the Smart Courses vendor (Creativas) > support link(s) can be found here. 🎟️ Vendors are usually pretty responsive and willing to help with general questions or troubleshooting issues.
Cheers, Tobi
Hello @Anthony Guzman
What's also worth checking: Microsoft Forms uses forms.office.com, not just forms.cloud.microsoft. Check the actual iframe src URL and whether the egress configuration allows FRAMES, not just fetch.
Hello everyone, thank you all for your inputs and we resolved the issues by adding the domain forms.cloud.microsoft and egress type = frames. Thank you all. Happy weekend.
Hi @Anthony Guzman, I'd change that entry to the bare domain, so https:// followed by forms.cloud.microsoft and nothing after it. If your embed code uses the older office.com Forms address, I'd add that host as a second entry too, because it redirects to forms.cloud.microsoft and both hosts have to be allowed.
I tested your exact entry on a test site, and it saved without any complaint while the form itself stayed blocked. Without a slash at the end, the browser reads /Pages as one exact page, so the form at /Pages/ResponsePage.aspx doesn't match it. The bare domain worked for me, and so did an entry ending in /Pages/.
It stopped working because Smart Courses moved from Connect to Forge in its 5 October major release, and since then any external content that isn't on the vendor's default list has to be approved in Egress Management, and Microsoft Forms isn't on that list. Creativas covers this on their customer-managed egress help page.
As Arek said, I'd pick FRAMES if the screen asks you for a type, then reload the course page.
Approving egress is a site admin action. When you added the domain, did Atlassian show you a consent screen and did you approve it? If the form still doesn't show after the change, that's the first thing I would check.
