Log work has mandatory fields for time remaining and work description at Creation of the ticket

Question

Log work is mandatory for my space. But time remaining, date started, work description were not mandatory. Are all fields made mandatory recently? if so, what's the logic? If CS team is creating a ticket for developer, how could they add time remaining part without proper dev understanding?

Do let me know, if I can update the settings to make other fields non-mandatory..

Is logging time mandatory during that transition, or can you complete it without entering any time?

This likely relates to your workflow configuration: create screens and transition screens are managed separately. Check whether the In Progress → Done transition has a screen containing Log Work or a validator requiring Time Spent.

I removed log work from screen schemes, and this issue is resolved.

But only time spent is being asked and recorded during the transitions from in-progress to Done types. But this sounds strange though!

Mandatory is based probably on field configuration changes or a 3rd party app is used. This not a default change that is made.

So you might need to check with the Jira admin of your instance.

Time remaining is calculated based on the given Original Estimate, based on Log wok actions the given time is deducted from the Time remaining.
