✨ What's new
1. Global Preview Panel for Assets
Assets objects can now be opened and managed in context from anywhere in Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence through Smart Links. View and edit relevant object details without leaving the work item or page you’re already on. This rich, permission-aware preview gives you the information you need about an object while keeping you in your current context.
2. Redesigned Object view
The view you see when you open an object has a fresh look and feel that aligns with the rest of the Atlassian platform. It’s designed to make day-to-day object management easier.
3. Redesigned Object List View
The object list view has been redesigned with a new, consistent table experience. It makes it easier to scan your objects and find the details you need.
4. Uplifted Object Graph explorer
Assets’ Object Graph has been rebuilt to make it easier to explore relationships between objects and navigate the graph. Quickly trace dependencies, impact paths, and related objects, while maintaining easy access to each object’s Overview, Linked Work, and Activity.
5. Linked Work tab
It’s now easier than ever to see the Work Items and Confluence pages connected to your objects. The new Linked Work tab on every object shows you exactly where work is happening. If you already had Work Items connected to your Objects, you will now find them under the Linked Work tab.
Pro Tip: Confluence Pages and Live Docs will appear under “Pages” tab so it’s easier than ever to find relevant information. Whiteboards, Databases, Blogs and other Confluence content types are not yet supported.
đź“… Rollout
This is rolling out gradually now through October 2026. No action is needed on your end - you'll simply start seeing the new experience as it reaches your site.
Q: When will I have these feature?
A: The rollout is already in progress and if can’t see these features in your site yet they will be enabled in the coming weeks. No action is needed on your end — you'll simply start seeing the new experience as it reaches your site.
Q: Do I need to turn this on, or configure anything?
A: No — this rolls out automatically. You'll just start seeing the new panel, graph, and object view as your site is upgraded.
Q: Where exactly will I see the new Global Preview Panel?
A: Anywhere you click an Assets object smart link.
Q: Will this work for every object, regardless of schema?
A: Custom Objects and Objects on our modern Common Data Model (CDM) are fully supported today. Objects still on the legacy Services schema aren't supported yet — that's coming as part of the New service experience migration work.
Q: Can I still get to the full object page, not just the panel?
A: Yes — and it's had the same redesign, so it looks and feels consistent whether you open it from the panel or navigate to it directly.
Try out these new features today and let us know what you think in the comments!
