Is there still no way to completely remove ANY emoji at the top of a space's home page in Confluence Cloud (including the default one)? I don't want any emoji up there and it's ridiculous that it's being forced on us.
Screenshot?
Hi @William Rudy 👋🏻
First of all, welcome to community! ✨
On a space Home page, Confluence Cloud binds the page icon directly to the Space Avatar/ Space Icon, which cannot be completely blank. You can replace the emoji with a subtle custom space logo of your company.
If you are a space admin or ask one of your space admin to follow the below steps:
I hope this helps & resolves your issue. 🙂
Thanks, Anwesha
Hello and thank you - it doesn't resolve the issue, but it does confirm the problem. It makes zero sense for this to be mandatory.
Still want to see a screenshot of this "emote" - (we're on enterprise confluence here - very curious)
Yes I agree with Matt here, @William Rudy we would like to see a screenshot now, since the above steps didn't resolve your issue.
Sorry, I'm not about to post an image from an internal corporate wiki (even a cropped one), and there'd really be no point anyway. Anyone on Confluence Cloud can go to their home page and see for themselves.
Perhaps find a screenshot outside your org?
Until then - we're not able to really assist you.
Hi William, you don't need to share a screenshot for this one, because I reproduced it on my own test site. Anwesha is right that it's the space icon, and Atlassian's page on space logos says it "appears at the top of the space overview" (https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/change-your-site-and-space-logos/). In my test the overview showed that icon whenever the page had no title emoji of its own, while a normal page showed nothing in that spot. So Remove emoji on the title only brings the space icon back, and Atlassian's own ticket CONFCLOUD-85102 (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-85102) says "As of today it is not possible to remove this icon."
What worked for me was a fully transparent PNG, which you upload under Space settings > Space details > Space icon > Upload and then Save. You'll still see a gap of about 40px above the title, and your space won't show a visible icon in the sidebar or the space directory either. It needs space admin rights. If your current icon is a custom one, save a copy first, because Restore default gives you a default icon rather than the one you had.
I'd vote on 85102 and on CONFCLOUD-79647 (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-79647), the older request, which lists this same PNG workaround.
