If you write Markdown in an agent or another AI application, you can bring that content into Jira, preview it, check it and save it there.
Markdown Mode for Jira adds two separate actions to the issue’s Actions menu:
- Edit in Markdown for the issue description.
- Comment in Markdown for a comment.
A source-to-Jira workflow
- Open the issue’s Actions menu and choose the action for the content you want to write.
- Write your Markdown or paste Markdown from the tool you used to draft it.
- Look through the preview and check the content before saving.
- Save the description or add the comment in Jira.
The preview gives you a point at which to check the content before it is saved. The same sequence applies whether you write the Markdown in the app or bring it from another tool.
Getting started
The app works with Jira Cloud and must be installed by a site administrator.
