Hello, community! 👋
With our brand-new platform up and running, we want to make sure your voice directly shapes how our community evolves. That’s where our Forums Ideas & Feature Requests space comes in!
Whether you’re submitting an idea, chiming in on a thread, or casting your vote, here’s a quick guide to how the ideation process works and what each status means.
🗳️ How Ideation works
- Submit & discuss: Community Champions can submit new ideas and feature requests. (Not a Champion yet? Share an idea in the comments for Champion consideration.)
- Vote: Browse the board and upvote the features and improvements you want to see most.
- Review: We regularly review top-voted ideas with our development, design, and platform teams to evaluate feasibility and provide transparent status updates. Subscribe to the community-release-notes tag to get regular updates of what is releasing and what is coming up next.
🚦 What the statuses mean
Every idea goes through a lifecycle so you always know where things stand:
- Gathering Feedback: The idea is open for community discussion, feedback, and voting. Dive in and make your voice heard!
- Under Consideration: The idea has gained significant community traction and is being actively reviewed by the community and product teams for feasibility, scope, and priority. You can expect this to happen once the idea has more than 20 votes.
- In Progress: Good news! The idea is approved and actively being built or configured by our team. You can expect monthly status updates on In Progress ideas.
- Requested from Vendor: Some features depend directly on our platform vendor. When this happens, we’ve formally logged and advocated for the request on their product roadmap. You can expect quarterly status updates on RfV ideas.
- In Backlog: This requires engineering or design work and prioritization, but is in our backlog for future delivery. You can expect quarterly status updates on Backlogged ideas.
- Delivered: It’s live on the forums! 🎉 Thank you for helping us bring it to life.
- Closed (Won’t Do): While we wish we could build everything, some ideas may not be technically feasible or align with our long-term roadmap – or, they could be duplicates of existing ideas. Whenever an idea is closed, we’ll do our best to share the rationale behind the decision. If an idea has not gotten 10 votes over the course of a quarter, it may be closed for lack of community demand.
