Hi all,
I see the same behaviour in the advanced forms builder of a Jira Software project and in the forms builder of Jira Service Management (Jira Cloud).
I use a three-column table in one row: a radio question, a short text question and a date question. Each input box sits directly below its own description. When the descriptions wrap onto a different number of lines (3 lines for the short text question, 2 lines for the date question), the date input sits one line higher than the text input. The inputs in the same row are therefore not on the same horizontal line. Screenshot attached (Jira Software form).
What I looked for:
- I found no setting in either builder to align inputs in a table row, and no documented option for it.
- I found no existing suggestion that covers this. JSDCLOUD-10690 is about where the form is placed relative to Jira fields, not about alignment. JRACLOUD-95526 (custom placeholder text) would help but is marked as not planned.
Current workaround: remove the descriptions of the neighbouring questions and put the guidance in a paragraph above the table. That aligns the inputs, but the help text is then no longer next to the field.
My questions:
- Is there a setting or a recommended way to align inputs in the same row that I have missed, in either product?
- Is there an existing suggestion for this that I can vote on?
- How do others handle this? Do you keep all descriptions on the same number of lines, or use a single column?
Thanks!
