Unfortunately the solution described in https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/how-to-retrieve-automation-rule-execution-count-in-jira-data-center-via-rest/ is not working , as it only delivers the rule configuration but not the mentioned performance insights of the count of rule executions, no actions and error count.
Therefore the question is is there perhaps a parameter that I need to add to the GET call of the mentioned Rest API, to also retrieve performance insights of the rules?
Hello @Michael Mohr
Have you tried this endpoint:
GET {JIRA_BASE_URL}/rest/cb-automation/latest/insight/GLOBAL/rule?startTime={START_TIME}&endTime={END_TIME}&sortField={SORT_FIELD}&sortOrder={SORT_ORDER}&limit={LIMIT}
Hi @Michael Mohr
Nikola's endpoint is actually the same one mentioned in that Atlassian article you’ve already checked out. It should give you execution counts and status stats, not just the rule settings. What Jira Data Center version are you using? Also, could you share a sanitized example of the JSON response?
As an alternative, Atlassian documents SQL queries for automation statistics, although that requires database access. 🙂
Best,
Arek🤠🧙♂️
That is exactly the Rest Api that I used, as it is stated in the mentioned Article. But it only returns the rule configurations and not the performance counts.
Hi @Arkadiusz Wroblewski,
please find below a excerpt of the returned JSON from that Rest API call. I could not find any performance insight counters for the execution, no action and error in it. Our Jira Version is 11.3.12. Unfortunately I do not have DB access, I'm only the Jira Administrator within the application and not teh operator of the application on the servers.

Your JSON is looking pretty similar to the response from the rules API, but that's not what you want since it gives you rule configurations instead of stats.
Could you take another look at your request and make sure you’re using the right endpoint with the date parameters? Atlassian has info on both endpoints right here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JIRAAUTOSERVER-1048
You can check out the performance insights and look at the actual request in your browser's Developer Tools under the Network tab.
This will help us figure out if Jira 11.3.12 is sending a different request or if there's some weird data coming back. Just share the cleaned-up request URL and the response layout, not the whole rule setup.
Hi @Arkadiusz Wroblewski , here is the Rest Api call that I used
https://<hostname>/rest/cb-automation/latest/project/GLOBAL/rule?startTime=2026-09-18T00%3A00%3A00Z&endTime=2026-10-18T23%3A59%3A00Z&sortField=EXECUTION_COUNT&sortOrder=DESC&limit=99
and here is the excerpt for a rule that according to the GUI Performance insight was called the last month several thousand times. And still no performance insight counts in the JSON result.

Browser Debug mode shows in network tab the following 2 calls
https://<hostname>/rest/cb-automation/latest/insight/GLOBAL/timeseries?&startTime=2026-09-19T00%3A00%3A00Z&endTime=2026-10-19T13%3A29%3A02Z https://<hostname>/rest/cb-automation/latest/insight/GLOBAL/rule?&startTime=2026-09-19T00%3A00%3A00Z&endTime=2026-10-19T13%3A29%3A02Z&sortField=EXECUTION_COUNT&sortOrder=DESC&limit=20
And from there I could see the differences. There is a additional insight in the URL instead of the word project. So it seems so that the rule config report was split from the rule performance insights call
