Is it possible to recover a backup of my Confluence

Hi,

I am trying to recover my Confluence Cloud content. In September I received an email from Atlassian regarding my account as I did not login for a while. Yesterday I realise that I keep the account but all my Confluence data is gone. I am checking my options here as I know my grace period of 14 days are gone now and I have a free account.

I was wondering if someone can help me to know if I can recover my data from a backup? Can I contact Atlassian Technical Support? If I subscribe maybe Technical Support are willing to get my Confluence backup?

Any advise would be appreciated.

I'd suggest contacting Atlassian's Billing and Licensing team to check whether your subscription and data can still be recovered. 🎟️
BUT, it would really depend on when the site was actually deactivated and entered pre-state for actual deletion. Trudy did write a great article about this and you can read more here: Atlassian Jira, JSM & Confluence Free Tier Inactivity & Data Retention 👈

You can also check the Inactive subscriptions section in Atlassian Administration (or Atlassian Billing). Just keep in mind that upgrading won't necessarily restore data if the retention period has already expired. 👀

Sorry to hear this, Jorge. Unfortunately, once a Confluence Cloud site has been deactivated past the 14-day grace period, Atlassian purges the data and support cannot restore it, even if you upgrade to a paid plan. If your site is ever at risk again, export a space backup or a full site backup while it is still active, since regular exports are the only reliable safety net. It is still worth contacting Atlassian support directly so they can confirm the exact status of your site.
