When I view emails on my Android with the GMail app, often the text for the name of the person overlaps the comment. It's fine on desktop.
A ticket was opened for this by Atlassian Support:
Hi Ben, check out [CONFCLOUD-84535] Confluence page update notification emails render table content with distorted layout, inconsistent font sizing, and overlapping elements - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
this sounds alot like the issue you are having. I would suggest voting for and watching it for updates.
Hope that helps.
Yeah, I saw that one, but didn't seem related because it involved creating a table. My issue has nothing to do with tables, but is just the standard emails that come when people comment on a confluence doc/page. Also, I'm not sure if or how I can create a new bug in the CONFCLOUD project.
Hello @Ben Johnson
Could you check whether the same email displays correctly in Gmail's mobile browser or another email client? That would help isolate a Gmail Android rendering issue.
If it's reproducible, I recommend reporting it to Atlassian Support with screenshots and your Android/Gmail versions.
Atlassian Support can verify the bug and create a new CONFCLOUD ticket if needed.

Looks fine when using the mobile web version of gmail on Chrome on Android.
@Ben Johnson I tried replicating this but I'm not sure how π Is that an inline comment, comment on a page you're watching or something else? I've checked a couple of my notifications (mainly mentions) but they all do show up as expected.
I've just checked and I'm running v2026.09.28.992409113.Relase π
v2026.09.28.992409113.Relase
It's a reply to an inline comment. I'm on Version 2026.10.12.998217723.Release, using a Galaxy S26
Here's an example of the HTML/css that's got it overlapping:

height:24px around the commenter's name looks suspicious.
Could you try temporarily setting Android's font size to default?
share HTML and screenshots with Atlassian Support. existing CONFCLOUD-84535 covers a different email layout issue, so this may need its own bug report.
My font was at default, but screen zoom was a a little zoomed in. Setting the zoom to the middle position, seemed to help the overlapping comment a little, but not completley.
