Automation flow to update users of an attachment that has been reuploaded

I've been able to create a flow to email particular users when a new attachment has been added to a confluence page.

However, I'd like users to be emailed when an existing document has been reuploaded on to confluence. I make updates to documents that are on confluence and upload the new versions of those documents with the same name as it appears on confluence.

How do I do this?

Confluence Cloud doesn't send email notifications when a new version of an existing attachment is uploaded or updated.

Atlassian removed these attachment-update notifications in May 2024

Page and space watchers do not receive alerts when someone uploads a new version of a file or overwrites an existing attachment.

There are open issues on this topic see; CONFCLOUD-79222 and CONFCLOUD-84581

A workaround you could use is:

1. MAke sure all relevant users watch the space or page.
2. Edit the page where you want to put a new version of the attachment.
3. Drag and drop the updated file directly onto the page editor over the old one.
4. Publish the page

The action of editing and re-publishing a page, triggers a standard notification to all page and space watchers.
