All documentation about this is wrong.
To see the Preview Pics in the Jira tasks, go to View Settings and toggle "View previews"…
That is a lie. View Settings has nothing in it like that now.
How do I get my Preview Pics to show up now?
Are you talking about previewing screenshots or the new preview experience? (Which has to be enabled by your Jira-Admin) → https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/preview-work-items-in-jira-search-and-the-list-view/
The "View previews" toggle isn't there anymore. Image thumbnails on board cards are now Card cover.
1. Open the board (Active sprints / Kanban board).
2. Open View settings.
3. Under Show fields, turn on Card cover.
To set a cover on a specific card: hover the card → More actions (···) → Select cover → pick an attached image (or a color / Unsplash photo).
If you're on a team-managed software space and you don't see Card cover in View settings, try More actions (···) next to the board → Configure board → Board → Card cover images.
If you meant thumbnails inside the work item itself (not on the board): open the work item → Attachments → More (···) → Switch to strip view or Switch to grid view.

(The other reply's link is about the list/search preview panel, which is a different feature.)
