Holaa Community peeps! 👋
Let's say you spent a good amount of time setting up Jira permissions, assigning users to groups, and making sure everyone had the access they needed. Everything looks good.Â
But what happens three or six months later?
Someone moves to another team. A contractor finishes their work. A project is no longer active.
Meanwhile, the access granted months ago might still be there.
The tricky part? Nobody necessarily notices until someone asks for an access review, or an audit is around the corner.Â
This got me thinking: why should access reviews depend on someone remembering to do them?
What if access reviews happened automatically?
Imagine setting up a quarterly schedule that prompts the right people to review access, lets project owners check users in their own projects, and helps teams identify access that may no longer be needed.
Instead of starting from scratch every time an audit comes around, access reviews become a regular part of managing Jira.
This was actually inspired by a customer who asked us whether admins and project owners could be prompted to review access every quarter.
That feedback helped shape a new capability in Access Reviewer360: automatically scheduled access reviews, with reviews that can be sent to individual project owners rather than routing everything through Jira admins.
The idea is simple: don't just manage access when it's granted, make reviewing it a regular habit, too.Â
💬 Curious to hear from the Community:
Do you run access reviews on a schedule, or do they usually happen when an audit, security concern, or access request brings them to your attention?
And would automating those reminders make the process easier for your team? 🙌
