Confluence search not finding in page content, only titles

I am currently on a free plan while we evaluate for potential purchase. I have added several pages, various procedures, etc. When searching, it only searches titles, not page content. Is there any way to fix this on a free plan?

Ok, I asked the AI - I was expecting results as I typed since it does show title searches there. You have to hit enter to get the full search. My mistake - it works now. Thanks for replying.

Hi Miles, I did a quick test on my instance and it's searching page content. I found an Atlassian Support article

It looks like there is a filter to 'Search Titles only'. Could this be set on your site? I couldn't find it on my site to try it.

If I had to guess - it may be that searching is limited due to encouragement of Rovo's ability to index/employ Teamwork Graph to handle searching of content across the instance.

EDIT: Based on Dan's comment - you may have a filter switched off/on

That said - the documentation shows you should still be able to pull up results in terms of the ability to do simple searches. (Even without Rovo)

Datacenter version shows re-indexing is an option but not seeing anything on the cloud side.

I trolled our admin settings and didn't find anything in search configurations (We're Enterprise level here) to indicate such controls outside Analytics.

I can attest to Confluence's value however - especially with Rovo leveraged - very powerful tool.

Only other possibility is User vs Guest access may see different Search results - make sure your a fully licensed (even free) user.

I know that there is a selection in a drop-down when searching to only search titles, but that is not checked. I used Confluence extensively at a previous job, both on-prem and in cloud when they removed self-hosting as an option. The searchability is key here, so hard to sell if that cannot work for some reason.

As per the re-indexing, that is not a feature of the free version. Worst case, I suppose we would have to initiate an enterprise evaluation via sales. I was hoping we would not have to do that.

I would say if you needed to do a trial - do a Standard - no higher than Premium - so at least you get a feel for Rovo's value.

Enterprise takes a bit of doing to get spun up - the other options are easier to get into.
