Hi everyone,
We're on Jira Cloud Free (cinewav-sj.atlassian.net) and hit the 2 GB storage limit. We deleted a large number of attachments more than 72 hours ago, but storage usage hasn't decreased and we still can't upload new files.
When I open admin.atlassian.com → Apps → Sites → Storage, the page shows "Something went wrong. Try again later." (screenshot attached). The page itself says changes should appear in Jira within 30 minutes.
Could someone from Atlassian please check and recalculate storage for our site?
Thanks!
You'll want to open a support ticket if its been too long since that started → https://support.atlassian.com/contact#/
They will have to check the back end to see what's causing the issue to sort it out.
Hi @Khrystyna Tymofiychuk 👋🏻
First of all, welcome to community! ✨
You could try the below self-troubleshooting steps first:
If this doesn't help then as Matthew had mentioned please submit a request with Atlassian. You can follow the below steps for the same:

I hope this helps & resolves your issue. 🙂
Thanks, Anwesha
Hi @Khrystyna Tymofiychuk ,
A deleted Jira attachment doesn't go to a trash, so there is nothing left to empty for those files. What you describe matches a known Atlassian bug, CONFCLOUD-85021: after a large number of attachments is deleted, the storage calculation doesn't finish and the report keeps the old total. It's filed under Confluence, but it is the same storage report in Atlassian Administration.
What the bug's workaround says:
To see what your attachments take while the Storage page fails: I'm with Terano Apps, and we built Storage Saver for sites that run into their storage limit. After install it scans the attachments in every project it can browse and shows the total on its Overview tab against the limit you enter in its settings (2 GB on Free). It counts the files it reads, not Jira's own figure, but it doesn't depend on the page that's failing.
Next time, without deleting: it moves old attachments out of Jira storage into the app's own storage hosted by Atlassian, and each file stays on its work item. Moved files are no longer Jira attachments, so JQL, automation rules and exports don't see them. Jira's figure drops only once its own calculation catches up, so a move won't fix a stuck total either.
